LSC Board's Operations and Regulations Committee to Hold May 1, 2004 Meeting on Proposal for Changes to Income Eligibility Regulation and Sanctions for Non-Compliance With Regulations

The Operations and Regulations Committee of LSC's Board of Directors is holding a meeting on May 1, 2004 to consider whether to recommend that the Board issue a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking that would tighten requirements for retainer agreements and group representation contained in LSC's income eligibility regulations, 45 C.F.R. Part 1611. The Committee will also discuss the possibility of permitting LSC to reduce grantees' budgets by up to five percent for non-compliance with LSC regulations and restrictions. The meeting, beginning at 10:15 A.M., is open to the public, and will be held at University of Maryland Law School's Moot Court Room, 500 West Baltimore Street, Baltimore, Maryland, 21201.
