Basic Facts about Low-Income Children

Monday, September 12, 2005

This fact sheet series from the National Center for Children in Poverty describes general demographic characteristics of children in low-income families--their number and proportion, where they live and how often they move, their age distribution, race, and ethnicity, and their parent's education, employment, marital status, and country of origin. It has been designed to provide comparable data for different age groups because young children are more likely to live in low-income families.
