LSC has updated the maximum income levels for an individual or a family to be eligible for legal services. Effective January 31, 2006, in the contiguous 48 states, a single person earning less than $12,250 is eligible for legal services, and a family of four with a household income below $25,000 is eligible for legal services. These figures represent 125% of the federal poverty guidelines issued by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
